Best shared photo albums for a wedding in 2026: how to collect guests' photos
Google Photos, a WhatsApp group, WedShoots, Gathmo, Fotify or CéSAR Photo: which shared album to gather guests' photos, and how each finds theirs.

For a shared wedding album where guests add their photos: Google Photos or WedShoots on a zero budget, Gathmo (€29) or Fotify (€29.99) for a QR-code album with no app, and CéSAR Photo (€49) if you also want each guest to find their own photos with a selfie, including the photographer's.
A shared (or collaborative) album gathers the photos guests took in one place. The real problem isn't collecting them but redistributing them: without sorting, everyone has to browse hundreds of shots to find theirs. Here are six options, from a WhatsApp group to a dedicated service, with prices and features taken on October 5, 2026.
The comparison at a glance
| Solution | Prices found | Selfie / face sorting | No guest app | Storage time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Photos | Free within the Google quota | No, not for guests | Google account recommended, link possible | As long as the album exists |
| WedShoots | Free | Not mentioned | No: iOS and Android app | Not stated |
| Gathmo | €0 (60 uploads), €29, €69 or €89 | Not mentioned | Yes | 30 days (free) to 1 year |
| Fotify | €0, €29.99, €49.99 or €79.99 per event | Not mentioned on its pricing page | Yes (QR code) | 7 to 365 days of access depending on plan |
| CéSAR Photo | Free, then €49 per event | Yes, by selfie | Yes (browser) | 30 days (free), 12 months (paid) |
| Free | No | WhatsApp app required | As long as the history is on the phone |
Google Photos: simplest for a small circle
A free shared album within your Google storage quota. Perfect if everyone has a Google account; no selfie search for guests.
WedShoots: free, with an app
The Mariages.net app: free album, invitation by code, QR code or email, but an iOS or Android app must be installed.
Gathmo: cheapest QR-code album
Photos, videos and voice messages with no app from €29; a free plan limited to 60 uploads. No face sorting mentioned.
Fotify: all-in-one wedding platform
From €0 to €79.99 per event, with guest and duration limits depending on plan. Face recognition is not mentioned on its pricing page.
CéSAR Photo: the album where everyone finds their photos
Guests and the photographer add their photos (direct import, Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer), then each guest finds theirs by selfie with no account. €49 per event; cap of 5,000 photos and 20 GB.
WhatsApp: keep it for chat, not for the archive
Handy on the day, but photos drown in the thread, are compressed when sent by default (sending as a document keeps the original) and nobody can find theirs without scrolling everything.
Which shared album to choose for your wedding
- Fewer than 50 photos expected and everyone on Google: a Google Photos album is enough.
- Between 50 and 300 photos, without face sorting: a QR-code album (Gathmo, Fotify) from €29.
- More than 300 photos or a photographer delivering their gallery: choose a solution with selfie search (CéSAR Photo, Evokly, Keep Pics).
- Guests from several countries: check that the interface exists in their language before choosing.
Frequently asked questions
How do you collect all the photos guests took at a wedding?
Place a QR code on the tables that opens a shared album in the browser: guests add their photos with no app. Then a solution with selfie search lets each guest find theirs.
Google Photos or a dedicated app for a wedding?
Google Photos suits a small circle already on Google. A dedicated app becomes preferable when guests are many, not all have a Google account, or you want a printable QR code and selfie sorting.
